This post is part of a series of 31 Day to Cultivating Heart Connections with Your Child as part of the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes Challenge.
We all long to belong.
Life isn’t meant to be lived alone.
God created the family to be a child’s first place of belonging—the place where they first see God’s love in action.
Home is designed to be a place where children know they belong. Where they are accepted and loved regardless of anything else. Where they can pull up “their” chair at the kitchen table and know they will always and forever have a place. Where they know and are known.
But how do we make that kind of belonging a reality?
By making space for them in our days.
By being a family unit.
By working together.
By playing together.
By serving together.
By creating family traditions.
By laughing together.
By sharing life—the ins and outs, ups and downs, happy days and sad days.
And in doing so, we will cultivate heart connections with one another because we have a deep sense of belonging to the same family.
